The Billy Boys

Music good for dancing, drinking, loving and swearing never to love again
The Billy Boys were destined to play music together, if only because they are all named Billy.

As sheriff of Elmira, Billy D abuses his office to “persuade” wayward musicians to join this band of string-slinging cowboys. BD arrested Billy C for stealing the wrong man’s cow; in lieu of jail time, Billy C was deputized. Billy P came into the fold after involvement in an unpleasant live burial incident at his father’s mortuary. The three then met Billy W during his escape from a chain gang, when he jumped in the back of their stolen chicken truck. After the lightning-fast Billy K knocked out all his opponents in a poker game gone bad, BD gave the fiddler a choice: Go to jail or join the Billy Boys. Sometimes Billy K wishes he had chosen jail.

The Billys have dubbed their music “AmeriCowboy”—good for dancing, drinking, loving and swearing never to love again. (Think Hank Williams and Mick Jagger on a bender in Barstow.) They purvey their hard-driving blend of originals, traditional Country tunes and Billyfied Rock classics to gin joints and seamy saloons throughout the Bay Area.
